Castle Museum visits Freshwater Library
People at Freshwater Library had a chance to handle history on Tuesday 23rd May to mark Adult Learners Week.
Staff from Carisbrooke Museum brought objects representing the Museum’s collections and aspects of Island life in the past.
Visitors were particularly interested in an engraving of the “Old Mermaid Inn” at Freshwater Gate and a pencil drawing of the Tide Mill at The Causeway.
People also had the opportunity to try out a 1913 vacuum cleaner (Pneumatic Broom) but decided to stick with their Dysons!
