A new Carnival Learning Centre on the Island has been given the go ahead at a recent council meeting.
The former nightclub and restaurant area of the Westridge Centre has been approved for redevelopment as the site of the facility, which is set to boost sustainable regeneration on the Island.
At the meeting last Thursday, Councillors agreed that the Carnival Centre would be a suitable use of a valuable site, and would also boost the Island’s economy. The venue is set to be the UK’s first Carnival Learning Centre, and in addition to helping the Council meet its Aim High objectives, will hopefully also become a major asset to the local community.
