CASH BOOST FOR SANDOWN YOUTH PLANS
A project in Sandown, to give young people a recreation area, is celebrating a financial boost. The Hampshire Police Authority has awarded it £3,000, towards the cost of setting it up. The Sandown Community Partnership plans to convert tennis courts into a multi-sports facility. A skate park, drop-in area and games area are expected, catering for around 1000 young people, aged between 12 and 18 years. Construction is due to begin early in 2008.
