I have just been told that the BBC Horizon programme on smoking around the world will be broadcast at 9pm, Thursday 29 June 2006, on BBC2. As they had 94 hourts of footage (including a day of filming I did for them in Dublin) everybody's bit has been cut. Apparently if you don't blink you will see me (in the James Joyce Museum outside Dublin) towards the beginning of this special programme, which also smoking in Bollywood, a lung cancer operation in England, David Hockney in California - and footage all shot on one day in January 2006 at different locations around the world.
