The whole of Brading Primary School celebrated their ten Walk the Wight entrants completing the Schools Walk the Wight from Freshwater Bay to Alum Bay. All the children, aged four to nine
years old, and their families had great fun and really enjoyed the spirit of the event and were proudly showing off their medals in
the playground first thing Monday morning. Collectively they hope to have raised over £500 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Head Teacher, Beverley Gilbert, said "We are all very proud of their achievement in taking part in such a big community event
for such a deserving charity."
Daniel Bean age 9yrs completed the first half of the walk from Bembridge to Carisbrooke, a little tired on Monday morning but everyone was very impressed by his achievement.
Twins, Sam and Tobi Challis having completed the four miles in one hour ten minutes are now planning on following in Daniel's footsteps by walking half the course from Carisbrooke to Alum Bay next year!
