2006 Beach Soccer News
In 2005, The Bees cemented their position as the most successful club side in UK beach soccer, retaining all three titles they won in 2004. As well as winning the Moreys League Cup for the third year, and repeating their SuperFinal success, they also retained the Premiership title - can they now make it three in a row?
Expect current Wightlink Cup Champions, Sandown Sociedad, to challenge again, but last year they didn't beat The Bees in any of their league or cup meetings. Sociedad manager Luke Kerr will have to change this is he wants the Premiership title. The other three teams from 2005 - BSC Fairway, Fox Property and Simeon United - will all be stronger, while newcomers Small Hope Spartans will have to make big improvements if they want to compete in the top flight.

Sandown Sociedad Youth once again look like the side to beat in the Championship. The two newly-promoted teams - Ryde Coast Rangers, and last season's FTP Team of the Year, Wight Stripes - will both be keen to make an impact early, but against experienced beach soccer sides like BSC Matrix, West Lake Rangers and Wight Knuckle Ryde, they may take a while to adjust.

Top team to be promoted; bottom two teams to be relegated.
Division One promises to be as entertaining as last year. The Bees B will definitely be looking to improve on last year, but they have a way to go before they can catch the likes of Simeon Youth and Athletico Access, two young sides who will both have their eye on the title. If Rob Holbrook continues his phenomenal scoring rate for Ryde Sandblasters, they will also be challenging for the top spot.
New teams for 2006 include Wight Stripes B, who will expect to compete for a play-off place at the very least. Other newcomers are Central Eagles, Ryde Sports and Ryde Athletic, all of whom are unknown quantities at this time.
They will be back too...
