British seaside piers are back on your must-see list, according to broadcaster and author Chris Foote Wood.
He’s the organiser of the Great British Pier Crawl 2008. The idea is that you must visit at least three piers before 30 October. The more you visit, the higher your virtual rank (you can find out more at
www.piercrawl.info). On 25 April, Chris will lead “crawlers” along Ryde pier. There are 55 seaside pleasure piers off England & Wales, plus one on the Isle of Man. Ryde, Sandown and Yarmouth piers all count! Will you reach 20 and become an Admiral of the Fleet? Let the IW Beacon know!
