Freshwater Life; an exhibition of work by Barry Ecuyer
Throughout November Freshwater Library is hosting an exhibition of drawings and paintings by Barry Ecuyer. Inspired by the beauty of the Freshwater Bay area the work ranges from detailed pen and ink drawing to dramatic watercolour seascapes. The show also includes some drawings of the figure, an area of long standing interest and challenge. Since moving to the Island he has achieved recognition in two solo exhibitions at Dimbola. Previously exhibiting regularly at the Djanogly Gallery Nottingham and at several Derbyshire venues he was also Chairman of the Derby Sketching Club. Illustration work includes a mural for the Children’s Cafe at Chatsworth House, book illustration and information material for the Arts Council, BFI and National Trust. He currently runs a Life Drawing group at Dimbola on Monday evenings.
