At last we have reached the first month of spring! March heralds the beginning of the best few months of concentrated activity and enjoyment for the gardener. The clocks go forward on the 30th of March, so there will be more daylight hours to spend in the garden.
Despite the weather, there is still plenty of opportunity to be green fingered! Sweet peas and some vegetables can be sown if it is mild enough and there is also pruning to be done. Wildlife in the garden are still in need of some attention, especially if the weather is cold.
February's plant of the month is the beautiful Camellia x williamsii 'Anticipation'. Its glossy evergreen leaves and sumptuous buds will certainly bring a splash of colour to your garden this month.
